LIAF presents Quickdraw Animation Society (Canada) 30th Anniversary screening

The London International Animation Festival (LIAF14) returns with a whopping 10-day celebratory feast of forums, workshops and over 200 of the best recent, historical and retrospective animation from around the world. This year’s uncompromising programme promises to inspire and delight - and also challenge the notion that animation is merely for the 3D-CG blockbuster genre.

Based in Calgary, the Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS) stands as one of the most valuable organisations in the indie Canadian animation community. Since 1980 this artist-run film co-op has proved to be a valuable hitching post for a supremely talented, fiercely independent and often courageously experimental posse of animators to learn, develop and refine their filmmaking free of any constraints. As a result of a forensic search of the vast QAS archive, we have brought together TWO very special programmes in tribute and celebration of QAS.

LIAF is thrilled to announce that Peter Hemminger, the Executive Director from the Quickdraw Animation Society will be attending the festival to introduce this screening and be available for questions afterwards.
