DIE! DIE! DIE!, BUTTONHEAD, REDJETSON & ELLE S’APPELLE FOR SPECIAL ‘FUTURE SOUNDS’ NIGHT – APRIL 11th

Following the storming success of Rockfeedback.com’s site re-launch party with Black Kids and Metronomy there last month, Rockfeedback returns to the Cross Kings (126 York Way, Kings Cross) for a second time to host a FUTURE SOUNDS evening.

Rockfeedback is constantly exposed to so much new and exciting talent that we often don’t know what to do with it, so we’re delighted that on Friday 11th April, from 8pm – 2am we’re able to assume our FUTURE SOUNDS guise once more and assemble four of our favourite new bands from around the world over the Cross Kings’ weird and wonderful pair of stages. The bands in question?

DIE! DIE! DIE! - One of the finest bands Rockfeedback caught on a recent trip to Texas’ annual SXSW music conference (so good we saw ‘em about five times in total), this New Zealand three piece sit somewhere between the art rock soundscapes of Sonic Youth and brazen tongue in cheek wrong-pop of Mclusky. Expect them to run around the venue shouting your new favourite songs into your ears within about 30 seconds of commencing their set. http://www.myspace.com/diediedienz

BUTTONHEAD – This south east London six piece have been daubing their post-pop-rock songs with stabbing strings and clarinet honks since 2006. They’re as likely to sing about car boot sales and deceased corgis as they are psychotic woodland folk, and just as liable to change their mind and do something completely different without warning for the ruddy hell of it. Fans of Deerhoof and Animal Collective should rejoice at their presence on the bill – we certainly do. http://www.myspace.com/buttonhead

REDJETSON – OK, so not technically a new band – they’ve been making fine sounds together since 2002 – but they are with a new line up and making some fantastic new music, arguably the best of their careers. Post rock in the best of senses, in that it takes rock’s sturdy blueprint for success, licks on a stamp and posts it off in to oblivion, the second album they’re currently in the middle of recording has us rather excited indeed. http://www.myspace.com/redjetson

ELLE S’APPELLE – If only Elastica sounded a little more like Queen, the world would be a happier place, and wars might never happen. Thank heavens then for Elle S’appelle, a Liverpool band whose knowledge that indie know how actually makes a perfect bed fellow for anthemic pop choruses has endeared them very much to our hearts. XTC, Freddie Mercury, Yeah Yeah Yeahs… I can hear my dancing shoes calling me just thinking about it. http://www.myspace.com/ellesappelleband

All that plus DJing courtesy of the most beautiful DJ line up in London – Goldierocks and BIG DJs, as well as the Rockfeedback regulars.

Limited tickets are available in advance for £6.00
