Space is the Place (Dir. John Coney, 1974, 85 min, USA)
One of the very rare blaxploitation science fiction films, Space is the Place was written by Sun Ra, the multi-talented jazz composer and poet. The film was made to make a statement about the conditions of black people on planet earth, and about how music could lift them out of their condition.
