'We Come Alive': carefully curated, inspirational bands and songwriters at The Harrison, Kings Cross - a pub with amazing ales, great food, smiling faces and a great sounding music room. The evening is hosted by Danny from Laish and the first night sold out in four days of going on sale and was a night described by one tweet as 'like being at End of the Road Festival, but in a pub'.
Party II lineup:
Little Arrow
Seamus Fogarty
Lucy Cait (band)
Psych folk rock kids, Little Arrow, emerge from the depths of Wales with a unique, wild-eyed joyous musical explosion. Over the last few years they have conjured an impressive and affecting songbook on Bubblewrap Collective Records, been nominated for the Welsh Music Prize and played twice at Green Man Festival. They never play in London, but we persuaded them to come round off our second party.

Seamus Fogarty meanwhile hails from Ireland and is a warm, generous performer, a songwriter with a unique approach to his craft. There is some folk, some country, some found sounds and a voice that is as raw and affecting as you'll hear. His album on Lost Map Records was one of Drowned in Sound's albums of the year: "Fiddle, guitar and banjo are cloaked in brumous electronics, snippets of conversations and the sounds of drawers slamming and eggs breaking, exploring the boundaries of song structure, warping and morphing, punctuated by echoey samples, lucid then grainy. Fogarty’s plain-as-mucky-boots singing voice keeps the record grounded: a welcome dose of reality amid the celestial wanderings."

Lucy Cait is from London and has just amassed the kind of band that makes you want to get off your arse and witness the perfect union of youth and talent. It makes you want to call the NME news department. She has written some blinding songs and finally has the personnel to do them justice. You're going to be hearing about this young woman. And here she is getting our party started!
