Get the Barnes Music Festival off to a great start by joining this one-day workshop for singers of all abilities with well-known choral conductor Ralph Allwood. During the day, singers rehearse pieces by Rutter, Howells, Parry, Purcell and by Allwood himself in conjunction with the young singers of the Rodolfus Choir.
For the evening concert, professional group il Suono perform a programme of music from 1215 to the present day with the title Freedom from Fear including John Joubert's Four Stations on the Road to Freedom which has not before been performed in the 21st century. In the second half, the young Rodolfus Choir will perform pieces by Holst and Taverner and the workshop choir will give their concert performance of some of the works rehearsed during the day.
For the workshop, the music will be available in advance from the Festival office. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own lunch. Participants should wear all black for the evening performance.
