"Tom must be one of the best young fiddlers in England, with a fluid style equally at ease with the English, American and Irish traditions" - Living Tradition
In a successful nine year career, Tom has worked with numerous singers and bands, including Pilgrims' Way, Gavin Davenport, and Albireo. His style is English at heart, whilst encompassing elements of many other traditions. It is a unique, vibrant style full of exuberance, energy and wit, yet capable of expressing extraordinary emotional depth.
Tom Kitching's new album 'Interloper', will be released on Fellside records in March 2015.
Working with musicians from outside English music, Tom Kitching has pressed the reset button. Defining English music as anything written by an English musician, regardless of style, Interloper sets the English tradition at the heart of a web of traditions across time and territory.
The band;
Tom Kitching - Fiddle
Marit Fält - Latmandola
Freya Rae - Flute and Clarinet
Jim Molyneux - Percussion
Contemporary and broad based, Interloper captures an English tradition that is open to the world, confident, and comfortable with the journey.
