Event information

'We Come Alive': carefully curated, inspirational bands and songwriters at The Harrison, Kings Cross - a pub with amazing ales, great food, smiling faces and a great sounding music room. The evening is hosted by Danny from Laish and the first night sold out in four days of going on sale and was a night described by one tweet as 'like being at End of the Road Festival, but in a pub'.

Rachael Dadd is originally from Bristol but we can consider her an international artist. A genre blend of folk, experimental and joyous pop, her unique voice and disarming lyrical world has long defined the niche genre she has carved out for herself. Appearing for us with her incredible virtuosic full band, we will experience the full force of the pulsing poly-rhythms, prepared-piano, guitar, banjo, xylophone, synths, clarinets and steel drum.

Rachael has toured the UK, Europe and Japan relentlessly and has taken to the stage at countless festivals including Glastonbury, End of The Road, Green Man, Wilderness, No Direction Home, Truck, Boomtown, Mandstock (Italy).

Kristin grew up amongst the wild open country in South Africa, and moved to England aged thirteen. She picked up her first nylon string guitar and began writing songs, moving to Brighton soon to catch the attention of the The Willkommen Collective whose members included The Leisure Society, Eyes And No Eyes, Laish and Sons of Noel And Adrian. Her debut album, The Wild Grips, is about to be released and will be the best album you hear this year. She will be performing with Jools Owen, the finest drummer in Brighton.

Laish

Laish is the songwriting project of Danny Green, a Yorkshire-born musician who has made London his home. He is also hosting tonight's show.

Under the Laish moniker, and with an ever-evolving group of musicians, Green produced two critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively across the UK and Europe, taking in performances at End of the Road Festival two years running and supporting the likes of Grizzly Bear, Beach House.
