As part of a a unique evening of music and spoken word we are proud to welcome The Quietus editor JOHN DORAN on tour reading from his first book JOLLY LAD, with musical accompaniment by Norwegian noise rockers ÅRABROT.

The evening will be rounded off with a full set by Medway’s own noise favourites PUNCHING SWANS

and to kick proceedings off we will have a fine selection of bite-size performances from STUART TURNER, BARRY FENTIMAN-HALL, THOMAS W KELLY and THE REACTOR CORE IS SPLENDID.

JOLLY LAD, published by Strange Attractor, is loosely based on John’s widely read MENK column for VICE magazine, and is a memoir about recovery from alcoholism, mental illness, and substance abuse, is also concerned with the healing power of music, how memory defines us, the redemption offered by fatherhood and what it means to be working class.

On the night you'll be able to buy JOLLY LAD the book with free CD featuring exclusive tracks by the likes of Nicky Wire, GNOD, Eccentronic Research Council, Teeth Of The Sea etc and we'll also have a limited edition vinyl LP featuring tracks by Arabrot, Abi & Neil of British Sea Power and Nik Void of Factory Floor.
