Tellison are a 4-piece from London who write stunning songs about love, loss, regret, literature, and fancying your dentist. Formed out of a shared love of unsuccessful indie rock bands of the late 90s and early 00s Tellison have, to date, released two critically acclaimed albums (2007's "Contact! Contact!" and 2011's "The Wages of Fear") and a clutch of sold-out, occasionally charting, singles. Their third record is coming out on Alcopop! in the near future, and we are so excited to have them in Oxford…they are just the best. Come along, sing along, get drunk, take Monday off!
"Expect to hear much, much more from these rising heroes in the future." - KERRANG!
"This band deserve your love" - Rock Sound
"Tellison deserve to rule the world." - The Fly
Bad Ideas are 4 dudes from Lincoln. Having grown up on a diet of Chicago based punk rock bands and then romanced by the rootsy, old school revival of folk and country vibes creeping into punk rock music, Bad Ideas has a sound that uniquely sits between the gaps of Punk, Indie and Folk. Their latest offering, ‘The Better Parts of You’ was released in November by German label, Uncle M and also in North America via Paper + Plastick receiving rave reviews from the likes of Kerrang, Hitthefloor and Punktastic.
'The Better Parts Of You' doesn't try to be anything its not. It combines folk and punk, with an overall indie vibe in a way that’s extremely accessible and not easy to listen to, but a pleasure to listen to. Bad Ideas, we think you need to change your band name. 4.5/5 - Hit The Floor
Cassels were so good at our last show that we’ve decided to get them straight back! The band combine massive slabs of grunge riffing with a punk aesthetic and socially charged lyrics which chime strongly with the mood of the young generation...expressing themes of isolation, boredom and disillusionment.
In the relatively short time that they have been playing live, the band have been turning heads with their wiry energy and intensity, as well as the chest-punching volume that they produce. The band have already shared the stage with Eagulls, Slaves and Best Friends as well as playing at Truck Festival. Such is the band's live reputation that they were recently hand-picked by Radiohead's Colin Greenwood to headline his Independent Venue Week show in Oxford to a sell-out crowd.
