Backstreets VI - Guildean Gang + Zebedy Rays + Barrelhouse + Steve Bland Assembly

Backstreets is a semi-regular gig-night brought to you in association with webzine www.rockbeatstone.com. Previous acts have included Prinzhorn Dance School, Official Secrets Act, Captain Black, the Mules and Black Daniel. Expect tomfoolery aplenty for this summer backstreets show with four amazing acts and drunken DJs 'til late.

GUILDEAN GANG (London/Bedford/Biggleswade)
First Windmill show for this band who have previously played sold out shows at the Barfly and Metro and shared the stage with Lightspeed Champion and the Wombats . Expect clanging guitars, post-libertine indie and a huge dollop of enthusiasm. New single 'Swirl' is making the rounds of the indie clubs and looks set to propel these guys into the mainstream, while Steve Lamacq and Subbacultcha.com have championed this band. Inspiration comes from Bowie, the Mystery Jets, the Animals and Talking Heads and we like to think that they sound like current indie greats, the Pigeon Detectives and the Wombats. Only much, much better.

ZEBADY RAYS (Worcester/Malvern)
Return to the Windmill for this band who sound like the bastard love-child of the Kings of Leon and Jon Spencer Blues Exploison with a little bit of the poppiness of Supergrass thrown in for good measure. They cross-genres easily but never drop in the quality stakes.

BARRELHOUSE (Colchester)
Psych-Blues outfit from Essex who have invaded London on numerous occassions and left with more fans than they arrived with. Rocky blues with a psychadelic twist, they'll blow your mind!

Cheery, summery pop-rock from Steve Bland and his friends who'se EP 'Luxembourg' was produced by Richard Wilkinson (Magic Numbers).
