Cibelle, pronounced "See-bell-ee", is one of the most seductively original artists to emerge from the Brazilian scene. Singer, producer, composer, poet… Cibelle is chameleon-like in her ability to change her music’s subtle directions as well as her appearance.

It’s not just the music that is impressive - within weeks of the release of her single Green Grass, the beautifully crafted video that accompanied the song had accumulated well over half a million hits on YouTube. Her April 2008 tour also had the Observer rank Cibelle as one of the top “3 to see” touring artists in the UK, alongside Bjork and Portishead.

Cibelle’s sound can be described as enigmatic and utterly Brazilian yet, in the same breath, it can be said that nobody else sounds quite like her. Comparisons have been made with Bjork and Nina Simone, but there are always those elusive elements of Cibelle’s music that go beyond such similarities.

Cibelle’s September 2008 tour coincides with the release of her new single “White Hair” from her forthcoming album.
