Damnably began with a Peel Day at the Windmill Brixton 9 years ago. Join us as we retrace our birth at Damnably's NINTH Birthday/World International John Peel Day in aid of Refugee Action.

Refugee Action help people who have survived some of the world's worst regimes to live again, making sure every person who is seeking sanctuary has a safe place to stay, warm clothes and a hot meal.

SLOWGUN formed in 2005 and have been playing their catchy indie-rock-pop tunes on and off ever since. Slowgun have played gigs with Shonen Knife, Yuck, Bellini, The Primitives, Pete and the Pirates, Versus, Wussy and many more. Signed to Tim Burgess's O Genesis and regulars on the UK festival circuit.

Formed in 2007, toured with Shonen Knife, Bored Spies and supported Dick Dale.

For the best part of ten years echolocation has been operating on the fringe of what is acceptable from a pop/rock band. They twist elements of Can, Throbbing Gristle, The Fall and Killing Joke into a huge and surprisingly melodic sound. Spoken word vocals, brass, cellos, accordions, oscillators vie for attention with the epic heavy rhythms and at times discordant guitars.

Formed in 1999, Mercury Prize long-listed, Rolling Stone 'Album of the year', often playing 70 odd shows a year. He did a session on Steve Lamacq, a gig in New York plus had 2 million downloads in 2 weeks for Hey Hey 16k, wrote a pop Opera called 'Dinosaur Planet', now stars at the Edinburgh Festival every year and is has an MA in script-writing.

Former Utopia's George Gargan and Chiara Meattelli (Rolling Stone/Vanity Fair and now a backing singer in The Pop Group).
Named after a an Ed's Redeeming Qualities song George heard on John Peel and tracked down 17 years later.
They do comedy songs about Italian Reggae, Crazy Trainers, Chilli Linguine and will cover that Peel favourite 'More Bad Times'
