J-Sonics are a power house that blends Latin, Brazilian and African Jazz Funk. For this special London Jazz Festival concert the six-piece will be joined by stunning latin-jazz vocalist Grace Rodson, to perform melodically charged originals from the band's forthcoming new album Different Orbits, including leading track Samba House and sparkling renditions of classics by Ed Motta, Flora Purim and Mongo Santamaría.
Fuelled by Andy Davies – trumpet, Matt Telfer – sax, Clement Regert – guitar, Mike Flynn – bass, Gabor Dornyei – drums & Jon Newey - percussion
'The anatomy of the groove is still very much intact with J-Sonics. Their brand of rocket fuelled groove jazz has the after burners full on.' (Chris Philips, Jazz FM)
'These guys are truly on a mission to bring raw, razor-edged funk to British audiences.' (Young & Serious tweet)
