Up on the alter on the 21 September 2008 is:
THE THIRST
An electrifying indie/rock band from Brixton who are emerging as one of the premiere live acts in the UK. 2007 saw The Thirst on stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, Hyde Park Calling, Electric Gardens, Glastonbury and supporting The Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones. Their taut guitars and punk rock blazing songs grab you without any time to get a stitch on, so get your finest knickers and be prepared to shout out loud. The Thirst blend together a vibrant sound and offer a refreshing and uplifting alternative to present youth culture. Inspired and influenced by old punk records, Hendrix, drum n’ bass and hip-hop, the result is uniquely their own.
The Junipers:
\"Hermit-like psychedelic warlords\". - Mof Gimmers
\"Radio friendly, lovable pop with it\'s hair in stars \". - Record Collector Magazine
This cosmic pop outfit are a breath of fresh air that draw inspiration from the past, present & the future, creating a wall of sound by subtly utilising their collection of antique, primitive & modern instruments. In 2007 they were signed by indie label San Remo & were put to work on recording their debut album. The album \"Cut Your Key\" is due for general release in September 2008.
The Rebs:
\"The Zutons channelling the spirit of The Clash\" - Gigwise.com
2007 saw them support major acts such as The Enemy, Tiny Dancers, John Power (Cast) and Five O\'Clock Heroes, as well as lining-up with Supergrass and The Ordinary Boys at GuilFest.
2008 has seen them gain momentum as they compete in the \"Road To V\" competition final, picked ahead of 2,500 bands by top industry judges such as Dirty Pretty Things\' Carl Barat and NME\'s Marc Beaumont. They came out as the favourites in the \"Gig At GuilFest\" competition judged by a panel including Charlotte Hatherley and EMI Studio Group. They will now perform on the massive Ents24 Stage at the 24,000 capacity festival. This August will also see them record at legendary Olympic Studios in London.
