Improvising jazz/experimental rock act, The Thing was established in February 2000 when three of Scandinavia’s most talented musicians combined forces to form a powerful trio that uniquely fuses together ‘free’ music traditions from across the globe. Now, eight years later, having collaborated with artists as diverse as jazz legend Joe McPhee, to noise-rock heroes Sonic Youth and acclaimed electronica duo Basement Jaxx, The Thing has firmly been established as one of the most creative, innovative and energetic musical acts of modern times.
