Backstreets VII
Backstreets is a semi-regular gig night at the Windmill. Four up-and-coming bands, and a great Friday night party vibe.
THE NEW YORK FUND (London)
Alt.country-rock of the highest quality, this band were born of the ashes of mid-90s sensations, Cherryfalls. In 2007, they supported Modest Mouse, Ed Harcourt, and Ash and were heavily played on Dermot O'Leary's BBC Radio Two show. This year they've already played Glastonbury, T in the Park, Electric Picnic, Summer Sundae, the V Festival and supported the Hold Steady.
They've all the credentials, and the live show with it, to become massive. One not to miss.

WHITE RUSSIANS (London)
Dark, disturbing and steeped in Americana, this band have recently released their self-titled debut album produced by Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness). They've played Austin's SXSWand been heavily played by Steve Lamacq on his radio show. Fans of Cash, Beefheart and Waits will not be dissapointed.
