Presented by: Brixton Windmill0 | LONDON: Brixton Windmill |

P | Friday 31st October, 2008 |
N | 8:00pm |
Following an amazing, very sold-out show in August at the Windmill, Peggy Sue & the Pictures return for a night of Hallowe'en fun, in what also doubles as the first night of THE TRIPTYCH TOUR: 3 bands, 1 van, 12 dates. Peggy Sue, Alessi’s Ark & Derek Meins are setting out in early November on a cross-country road trip to bring to you twelve nights of their handmade folk, blues, and poetry and they kick it all off here with a HALLOWE'EN HORROR MARATHON complete with:
- Puppet Show!
- Hallowe'en Punch and Treats
- Hallowe'en Costumes
- Pumpkins
With Lyrical content that ranges from the troubles of being superman to the compartmentalization of emotion via body parts; constellations of freckles; Freud and gin; this is a tour which combines the imagination and musical fusions of three different acts, multiple influences, and styles. From traditional folk, to everything anti-it.
PEGGY SUE (Brighton)
..is Rosa Rex and Katy Klaw from Brighton via London. Their friendship was originally based on a mutual appreciation of teen film 'Empire Records' and an unspoken rivalry about their collections of Regina Spektor bootlegs. Then in January 2006, Katy was offered a gig and asked Rosa along to keep her company on stage. The duo played 3 songs one of which they wrote that night and Peggy Sue was born.

ALESSI'S ARK (London)
Alessi is 18 and from West London but get rid of that image right away; this isn't another pop-rock wannabe. Instead,
Alessi's Ark is filled with an innocent kind of wonder at the world, her voice sounding otherwordly but strong as it carries words filled with visions of nature and magic. Plus, she's already collaborated with Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, two thirds of Bright Eyes to create and epic transatlantic sound.
Alessi’s Ark releases her debut EP The Horse through Virgin Records on 8.12.2008. You'll be hearing a lot, lot more of here after that!

DEREK MEINS (Brighton)
The Famous Poet Derek Meins, signed to 1965 Records. Responsible for 'If the ocean were made out of gin/Maybe I'd learn how to swim' and many other fine stories.
