Girl Sweat and Was Ist Das!? are happy to bring you the first ever SWEAT IST DAS!? at Leeds' fantastic DIY music/arts space CHUNK.

Together we're bringing you a night of fantastic electronics and noise with sone of our favourate acts we've recently had on/shared the stage with.


CHICALOYOH
Chicaloyoh is Alice Dourlen’s solo project. Creating music between soundscape exploration and intimate contemplation, Chicaloyoh is a mix of guitar, keyboards and percussions from distant and various horizons. Chicaloyoh is a one woman band that will attract those who like the priestess singings of Inca Ore or Nico. Together with High Wolf she plays as Woodoo Mount Sister, who toured Europe and the USA last summer. Chicaloyoh has already released tapes on Bumtapes, Dial square tapes, Clay Ruby’s (from Burial Hex and Second Family Band) label Brave Mysteries, and more recently, full-length LP's on the french label Faunasabbatha and Shelter Press.

CHEVAL SCINTILLANTES
"Cheval scintillantes is the solo project of Sophie Bernadou, She plays cello in very personal ways, she uses some delays and plays also pizzicato. If you like the tragic atmosphere in the movie of Roman Polanski "La jeune fille et la mort" you will like it for sure! drama vibes and Chills assured!"

MARLO EGGPLANT
Born in Baltimore, MD, USA, Marlo De Lara is a sound performance artist currently pursuing a PhD in Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds. Under the Marlo Eggplant alias, De Lara produces textural compositions which develop from microscopic tone landscapes into dense and expansive states of noise and drone. Her works aim to blur the definitions of (un)intentional sound and music.

Marlo has toured Europe and the United States extensively, having performed the Victoria Noise fest (BC), Norcal Noisefest (US), Denver Noise Fest (US), Titwrench Festival (US), various locally curated satellite International Noise Conferences, This is Not Art festival (AUS), and the extended programme at Colour Out of Space Festival (UK). As curator of the Ladyz in Noyz international compilation series, an ongoing project from 2008 to the present, she continues to promote emerging female artists, recently completing a nationwide Australian tour with sister organization Ladyz in Noyz Australia.
