Voice: Emily Burn, Victoria Couper, Clemmie Franks. www.voicetrio.co.uk
Voice, the unique female vocal trio, explores repertoire that is diverse while being complementary: performing works by Hildegard of Bingen and other early masters; traditional songs and arrangements from around the world; and newly commissioned compositions.
Formed in 2006, Voice is a regular collaborator with composers, musicians, artists, and poets. Over the years, they have devised and commissioned a number of unique and exciting projects which they have performed at festivals and venues across the UK, Europe, and the USA.
In 2013, they launched their debut album Musical Harmony "...a stunning body of work destined to prick up the hairs on the back of one's neck" Tim Hughes (Oxford Times & Mail).
More recently Voice collaborated with the Dufay Collective on the English Medieval album I Have Set My Hert So Hy, and also released their second album Patterns of Love in Autumn 2015, featuring live on BBC Radio 3 In Tune with Sean Rafferty, described as "beautifully rounded".
In early 2016 they returned to the USA for their third tour, where they collaborated with world-renowned cellist Matt Haimovitz.
This year Voice look forward to performing in Janacek's 'Diary of one who disappeared' with Julius Drake, Mark Padmore and Anna Reinhold at West Cork Chamber Music Festival, and plan to record a new album of medieval repertoire for release later in the year following their performance at Oxford Early Music Festival.

Balladeste - A collaboration between innovative violinist Preetha Narayanan and cellist Tara Franks who came together through an understanding of their parallel paths from a classical background to a current practice of collaboration, research, and improvisation. Having developed a duo identity born out of their trio Quest Ensemble, they have created a unique sound of their own and way of working with mutual resonance. Writing through playing, improvising, and finding a shared language without notation, the duo explore the versatility and sound potential of just two string instruments as a band. They merge their varied musical experiences to create compositions that are vibrant and experimental yet melodic and filmic in quality.
Having integrated their duo repertoire into Quest Ensemble performances at venues including Wilton's Music Hall, Vortex Jazz Club, Southbank and Union Chapel, the duo have received high praise from listeners for their engaging interaction.
With a collective array of collaborations and commissions including working with visual artist/dancers; Lucy Steggals, Somang Lee, Ruth Pethybridge, and renowned UK artists Oi Va Voi, Talvin Singh, Bernhard Schimpelsberger, Shammi Pithia and Kate Tempest, their varied work and love of collaboratively creating feeds into their process and performance dynamic as a duo.
