Gaye Bykers on Acid - Electric Banana tour Sept/Oct 2016

"Do you remember how it felt? "

How many people loved the psyched out, acid fused, funked up, heady rock sounds that GBOA served up back in the day and wish they could still get to throw some shapes while Mary, Robber, Tony, and Kev wang their twisted aural delicacies at them live?

Sadly back in 1990 would've been the last time it was possible as the band went their seperate ways to work on individual projects meaning that the GBOA live experience was set to be a distant memory.

Well, 26 years later and they're back! Really! They're back!

Formed in 1985 the Bykers came to fame with their first independent release "Everythang's Groovy" which reached the indie top 10. With their incendiary live shows their fan base grew including a now infamous appearence at Glastonbury festival. The bykers followed their initial success with the"Nosedive Karma EP" which topped the independent charts. The band, one of the first to fuse rocking riffs with Hip Hop beats along with Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead became a part of the "Greebo" movement and in turn became front page news. Ahead of their time or just out of their minds, the bykers were flavour of the month which led the band signing a deal with Virgin and making 2 albums "Drill your own hole" the soundtrack of the movie of the same name and "Stewed to the Gills". With appearances at Reading festival, Roskilde and Pinkpop as well as supporting The Cult in the US the bykers continued to spread their own brand of mayhem wherever they went. After being ripped off by their manager being shown the door by Virgin the band continued in full party mode starting their own label Naked Brain and releasing 2 more albums "Cancer Planet mission" and "Pernicious Nonsense" and the more dance influenced S.P.A.C.E. EP. Constantly evolving musically and exploring new styles. They Toured the UK, US and Europe it was Sex, drugs and rock and roll all the way until the band self destructed in 1990...

Which brings us to now ...
The offer of the Indie Daze festival in London is bringing the band back together and this, the Electric Banana reunion tour. Where in the famous words of Cher, the bykers will be turning back time and will be playing all the favourites & singles plus a selection of their favourite tunes from all of the Releases...

"If you can remember it the first time around you probably weren't there!"
