THE WAR ON DRUGS (Philadelphia, PA)
After a triumphant sold-out show in August, Pennslyvania's premier cosmic rockers make a swift return to the Windmill.
'Taking The Farm' (listen to it on myspace, it inspires awe), is the first single from their Wagonwheel Blues LP, and is out in the UK on September 29.
The War On Drugs are supporting The Hold Steady on their European tour and this is their only UK headline show.
Top-down, pitch-perfect car-radio rock. Only Americans can make music like this: blue sky and widescreen, feel good - but with a sting. - Uncut, 4/5
sounds incredibly like the amphetamine-addled Bob Dylan of '66 fronting The Jesus And Mary Chain. - NME, 7/10
Immediate, listenable and addictive. Obvious reference points include Springsteen and The Hold Steady, yet the dreamy waves of widescreen sound wouldn't have sounded out of place on the Apocalypse Now soundtrack. - The Fly, 4/5

MY SAD CAPTAINS (London)
their most recent single 'All Hat and No Plans' (White Heat) got XFM playlisted and was Steve Lamacq's record of the Eek on 6 Music earlier in the year.
slacker indie pop sensibilities that herald an inevitable radio takeover in the next year - Uncut
like Calexico's poppier cousins...genuinely tuneful country tinged songs...one of the capital's best kept secrets The Fly

SUPER NASHWAN (London)
Tunes with a gospel-twang trim and a dark heart of psyche.
Super Nashwan are tearing into this digital world with razor lyrics, euphoric gospel melody and songs just bursting with tender soulful cool. - THE INDEPENDENT
