Peter is one of America’s most gifted song-writers. Born in Buffalo, New York in 1954 he started in the music business after gravitating to the West Coast where he formed The Nerves (who wrote the original version of Blondie's 'Hanging On The Telephone') and later The Plimsouls who achieved some chart success bringing Peter to the attention of records company mogul David Geffen. His talents were first formally recognised in 1986 with a prestigious Grammy nomination for his debut solo album, released on Geffen. That year, the New York Times rated the album it's top release. His next album (the snappily titled "The Man With the Blue Post-Modern Fragmented Neo-Traditionalist Guitar") three years later cemented his growing reputation and featured contributions from the likes of Los Lobos, David Lindley and Ry Cooder.

Since then, he has continued to work with many big names and released eight critically-acclaimed solo recordings, gifting many other artistes choice cover material in the process.

As a tribute to his wok, in 2005, close on fifty of the world’s most successful songwriters agreed to contribute to a 3-album project "A Case for Case" each singing the Peter Case song they loved best. Among those participating were Victoria Williams, John Prine and Jeffrey Foucault.

His latest album, also Grammy-nominated ‘Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John’, features guest appearances from some of his best pals in the business, including another big admirer, Richard Thompson.
