A famous double header!
The Wave Pictures vs The Burning Hell (founded in Leicestershire, England and Newfoundland, Canada).
The most loved and regular playing bands in the short Music Hall’s history – both tip up together – after this night the medal haul will be 8 golds between them!
The much anticipated new LP from The Wave Pictures ‘Bamboo Diner in the Rain’ is out on the 11th November, so we can all be word and tune humming perfect by the time they arrive on the 2nd December.
Songwriter and guitarist Dave Tattersall explains: This album is set in the Bamboo Diner of my dreams, with rain beating on the windows and a jukebox stocked with blues. We wanted to make an album as open-heartedly great as ‘’Boogie With Canned Heat’’ or “Rory Gallagher’’ by Rory Gallagher. We also love the American Primitives, John Fahey especially. What are The Wave Pictures but English Primitivists?
The Burning Hell’s 7th release ‘Public Library’ came out earlier this year. The band have toured the globe enchanting all who witness their supermarket-cart ride through hooky, upbeat pop songs, dark ballads about pet euthanasia, anthems for barbarians, economic conferences and love. Delivered in their musical gamut of introspective folk to hyperactive rock and roll.
Drowned in Sound reviewed them with these words. “They write the kind of literate, funny, catchy songs that makes you want to learn all the words and shout them passionately back in their faces.”
A pre Christmas treat!
