Angharad Davies
Angharad Davies is a violinist based in London. She is an active performer in contemporary, improvisation and experimental music both as a soloist and within ensembles. Since making London her base in 2002 she has developed a specific approach to the violin, extending the sound possibilities of the instrument by attaching and applying objects to the strings or by sounding unexpected parts of the instrument's body. She is dedicated to exploring and expanding sound production on the violin. 2008 has seen Angharad perform a live radio broadcast with Apartment House for WDR Koln, and in June she took part in Tony Conrad's 'Unprojectable: Projection and Perspective' which was specially conceived for the Turbine Hall, Tate Modern, London.
Bill Kouligas
Established through an ongoing touring schedule (more than 100 shows in Europe & U.S.) and an extensive back catalogue of many European and American releases,Bill Kouligas (occasional Sudden Infant member) using electronics, analogue synths, tapes and strings builds his own improvised heavy telepathic universe and conjures up a hazy psychedelic mayhem; from lulling numbness to fierce noise outbreaks. Recording & Live Collaborations with Chris Corsano, Anla Curtis, Karen Constance, Damo Suzuki, Mark Durgan, Ashtray Navigations, Astro, Family Underground.
Lasse Marhaug
Lasse Marhaug (b. 1974) has since the early 90ies been one of the most active artists in the so-called Norwegian noise scene. As a performer and composer he has contributed to well over 200 CD, vinyl and cassette releases over the years, as well as extensive touring and performing live in Europe, Asia and America. In addition to his solo work, Marhaug plays regularly in projects Jazkamer, Nash Kontroll, DEL and Testicle Hazard. Past projects and bands include Origami Replika and Lasse Marhaug Band. He has collaborated with several artists in the fields of noise, experimental, improv, jazz, rock and extreme metal, as well as working with music and sound for theatre,
dance, installations and video. He works with different kinds of
instrumentation; from guitar-pedals and homemade electronics to computers and modified guitars, but conciders the mixing-board his main instrument.
Mark Wastell
London-based sound artist and composer Mark Wastell builds enormous atmospheres on the Tam Tam with very little actual movement. Wastell’s music is dark, deep and beautiful. Slow movements build up sonic pulses that are able to take over rooms and buildings. He has collaborated with many people including Rhodri Davies, Bernard Gunter, Evan Parker, Mattin, Tony Conrad, Keith Rowe, Otomo Yoshihide, Derek Bailey, John Butcher, Toshimaru Nakamura and Burkhard Beins.
Nikos Veliotis
Nikos has been active in the experimental field since the 1990's working with both audio - as a cellist - and visual - as a video artist - mediums. He is a member of sych notable groups as CRANC (with Rhodri Davies, harp & Angharad Davies, violin), Looper (with Martin Kuechen, saxophone & Ingar Zach, percussion), Texturizer (with Coti K. , electronics) and tricycle (with Michael Duch - double bass & Anita Kasbool - voice). His video work uses static overlays of digital trash and other digital found material (through internet or broadcasts) combined with live sound or silence.
Joachim Nordwall
The originator of The Drone People project. Running the iDEAL Organisation (a record label, festival and event organizer) in Gothenburg, Sweden since 1998. Member of ritual rock/drone group The Skull Defekts since 2005, filth noise/metal group Satan Power (with John Olson, Lasse Marhaug and Edwin Pouncey) and analogue drone duo Alvars Orkester since 1988, composing something they call Psychic Broadcasting. Also active composing solo works and collaborating with artists like Leif Elggren, Mika Vainio, BJNilsen, Frans de Waard and most recently Lary 7. Nordwall's work contains a static intensity.
Henrik Rylander
Henrik Rylander is a Gothenburg-based sound and visual artist working in the fields of noise, intense avant garde rock and photography. He was the drummer of the infamous and retarded garage rock band Union Carbide Productions and is currently in the primal rock band The Skull Defekts. His photography is clinical and documentative, and as clinical is his feedback solo works - as heard on the »Traditional Arrangements of Feedback« album for iDEAL. He recently released his first book »Public Loudspeakers Information & Disinformation« for Kning Disk, a very strong work on governmental power and control in societies.
