Finally! Sham Bodie has come BACK to Manchester!
Much like Dwayne 'The 'Rugged' Rock' Johnson we're ever so apologetic for being away for a long time but we've been on holiday and stuff. But we're back now so forget about all that time when there was no Sham Bodie, because now there is Sham Bodie. On Thursday 6th October at Soup Kitchen. Let's see who's on shall we...
ALEX BOARDMAN
Alex is one of our favourite comedians in the country and has done more for the Manchester comedy scene than almost anyone bringing through ace young charges at his monthly 'New Comedians' show at The Comedy Store. He has written for a bunch of TV and toured extensively. We're very excited to have him headline having chased him down for years to get him on. Dead good.
DAVID STANIER
Fresh off a stellar run of his 'Silly Party' up in Edinburgh, wonderful human man David Stanier is the physical embodiment of fun. His sense of wonder and adventure is infectious and you won't help but fall in love with him, even though you might be terrified of said love. Just don't worry about it. He's lovely.
HANNAH PLATT
A rising star on the North West circuit Platt has been described as a 'Liverpudlian Daria'. Dark and twisted her comedy is stone cold dead pan delivered in pocket size form. Catch her now before you read about her in the newspapers. For comedy fame or murder. Maybe both.
IVAN CAMPO
Named for the wonderfully coiffed ex Bolton Wanderer's centre half, this Ivan Campo are much more nuanced that the tough tackling defender and much easier on the ear. Another act we've been trying to get on for ages they are one of the city's best bands, 'there is a gentle ease to the way Ivan Campo play. Their folk-acoustic sound seems to float through the crowd as the trio harmonize over poignant lyrics.' This is according to The Double Negative, and why would they lie? What would they have to gain?
We'll also have loads of hot dogs for you hungry sorts at half time (vegan ones n all if that's your bag pal) and a game of the greatest game of all. NOW THAT'S TAPE LOCK. It's a great game. You'll want to play.
SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!
