Event information

TROUBLE VISION is Corsica Studios’ new in-house club night. Except its not really a club night because we’re not really a club (and we have no plans to become one anytime soon). So it’s more of a no-holds barred irregular party that will take place whenever the time feels right or the urge takes us to throw something special together.

Famed for its underground aesthetic, phenomenal Funktion 1 sound systems and high-quality music programme, Corsica Studios has become a veritable haven for London’s underground music scene. Over the last couple of years we have hosted countless prestigious artists - from Diplo to Derrick Carter, Skream to Squarepusher and TROUBLE VISION is our latest creation.

Trouble Vision aims to lead from the front and represent the varied sounds that are fuelling the capitals underground scene. At a time where dance music is evolving by the day at Trouble Vision you can expect to hear the unexpected – from dubstep to disco, bassline to B-more and everything in between. We’ll be programming established artists next to lesser-known but equally talented musicians with a view to formulating an underground ‘musical magimix’ which you’ll struggle to match for quality and diversity anywhere.

The launch party in September broke our house attendance records with over 20 artists performing and the critically acclaimed Rusko topping the bill. For the second instalment we have none other than Nôze. Playing an exclusive live set in the capital, Nôze have had a busy year. They are described on last.fm as having “defined the new school of French tech-house, fusing dance with jazz and rock, and resulting in an explosive cocktail of free minded spirits and a real a performance on stage,” a description which doesn’t come close to doing their live show justice.

Nôze released their third album earlier this year on Booka Shade, MANDY and DJ T’s imprint Get Physical, which launched with huge critical acclaim. Since then they’ve toured throughout Europe and had the love of the European press since playing the set of their lives at the Sonar festival in Barcelona this summer. Anyone who saw them at Greco-Roman’s Xmas party here a couple of year ago will know exactly what to expect…

Providing support in the main room we have the much-hyped Drums Of Death bringing his own brand of ‘Voodoo-techno-rave,’ a DJ set from East London’s tech-electro monsters Joe & Will Ask, Fabric’s This & That, and Best Kept Secret boss come Coda agent Nick Matthews providing the icing on the cake.

In Room 2 we have a more jackin-dub-stepping-hip-hopping-house vibe, fronted by Detboi. Detboi is arguably the most exciting musically minded person to have come out of Ireland since Annie Mac and over the past couple of years he’s certainly earned her respect. With releases on Skint and Warehouse Records, and one on the way on Josh ‘Hervé’ Harvey’s label Cheap Thrills plus plans for an Australian tour in the new year, things are going well for the once Irish graphic designer. Catch him while he’s hot!

Providing the support in Room 2 we have an allstar London lineup. Hannah Holland will be stepping up to provide some of her critically acclaimed ‘bastard batty bass,’ alongside Trouble Vision hosts, Solid Gold & Park Ranger, East London’s Superfilthers!!! Oli DAB & Robin, The Boog-A-Loo Crew, Hylu and Jam Garden. This room is all set to be straight up no nonsense fun.

TROUBLE VISION is planned to develop into a fully multi sensory experience and for the opening party we hosted one of London’s first in-club Silent Discos. As a result of the huge demand of this feature at the launch party - and the sheer light hearted joy it brought to all who visited it - we’ve decided to do it again. One set of decks will be digital (CDJs,) while the other will be analogue (turntables,) resulting in a Digital vs. Analogue Battle, where the DJs will be laying down a soundtrack to competitively earn the greater share of the listeners. One will then be able to choose which DJ to listen to by flicking a switch on the headphones, issued on entry to the room.

We’ve given over the responsibility of supplying the music for this feature to a hand picked selection of young DJs, promoters and producers. Going head to head, we have the turntable wizards/stand up comedians, The Hot Doctors spinning hip hop, funk and jungle. They will be up against the hugely impressive Food Soundsystem, who will be playing everything from Deep House to Salsa. Then later on in proceedings, Silent Disco favourites, The Wolf Soundsystem will be doing what they do best: lacking coherence and overloaded with variety, their set will go head to head with an urban, new age soundtrack supplied by Suffolk’s finest Fibs & Thade.

All in all, a smorgasbord of gut-wrenching delights that WILL make you ill with pure unadulterated musical joy. With complimentary drinks for the early birds and a ticket price that’ll give you change from a tenner where else can you possibly see yourself being on Nov 14th?
