Welcome return to HDIF for James Hoare of Ultimate Painting and Veronica Falls. We've had some of the best HDIF nights with James and we're really looking forward to having him back.

We'll also be marking 40 years since the release of "Spiral Scratch" by Buzzcocks. The third punk single to be released, the self-financed four track EP is widely regarded to be the birth of DIY indie culture in the UK. Every independent label that followed, from Postcard to Creation, from Sarah to Fortuna Pop, owes a huge debt to this record and the wave of inspriaton it caused. We'll be playing every track from "Spiral Scratch" - all four of them, total running time 10:11 - over the course of the night. Plus a few other Buzzcocks classics if anyone asks for them.
