Help us support a Borders student
Presented by: Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival0 | HAWICK: Tower Mill |

P | Friday 17th February, 2017 |
N | 7:00pm |
You may be aware that in May 2017 the Scotland + Venice presentation at the world's most prestigious contemporary art festival - the Venice Biennale will be curated by Alchemy Film & Arts. The presentation will be a new film commission by Glasgow based artist Rachel Maclean.
The commission is supported by a professional development programme giving Scottish arts students the opportunity to live and work in Venice, developing their own creative practice and making new connections for the future.
For Alchemy it is important that a student from the Borders benefits from this opportunity and Catrina Barquist from Borders College has been selected to participate. Some funding has already been secured from Borders College and The Saltire Society. In order to ensure it happens we are hosting an evening at Heart of Hawick, a chance to find out more about Scotland + Venice and to see some of Rachel Maclean's work. Most importantly you can hear why this is an important opportunity for Catrina.
Feed Me was commissioned by Film & Video Umbrella and Hayward Touring for British Art Show 8. Supported by Arts Council England and Creative Scotland.
Tickets £9 including glass of wine/soft drink. Drinks served from 7pm, event starts at 7.15pm. To book a ticket call: 01450 360688 or book online.
If you can't make it along on the evening then you can make a donation through Just Giving: https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/alchemyfilm-arts/venicefundraiser
