Headlining gigs in 1969, Keith Christmas emerged from Beckenham Arts Lab, run by some chap called David Bowie. Keith's distinctive acoustic guitar sparkles on tracks on 1969's eponymous 'David Bowie' (aka 'Space Oddity') album and a string of solo albums.
Keith appeared at the very first Glastonbury Festival and, after a Who support slot, toured with King Crimson, Ten Years After, Argent, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, The Kinks and Roxy Music‘s first UK tour. Moving yet further away from folk, Keith was signed to ELP's Manticore label in 1974, followed by a spell recording in LA before retreating from the music scene for a while.
He returned in the 1990's with a fresh acoustic direction, not prolific, but with consistently critically applauded recordings. Now, impassioned, urgent, Keith Christmas is back with a new album 'Crazy Dancing Days' which has received best ever reviews and he's raring to play.
'A powerful and impassioned album by a ’60s survivor with a bellyful of righteous fire' Steve Hunt - fRoots Magazine
'Raspy cult folkie Christmas returns with this open-tuned emotional outpouring – autobiographical, political, haunting – and it’s his finest since the ’70s ****' Mojo
