Ceremonial Laptop returns with yet another offering of sonic bliss, cassette loops and transatlantic improvisations.
VALISKA (CA)

Hailing from Canada, ambient artist Valiska will be performing his new live piece ‘Four Loops’. The piece is a take on the 4 elements: Air, Water, Earth and Fire. Dealing with memories and nostalgia, the imagery for each part is taken from past experiences, keeping with each elements’ own substance and weight.
Each element begins with a different prepared cassette loop, while improvised layers of synthesizer and voice are added using live sampling and looping, both digitally and via cassette, creating broken melodic soundscapes that swell, grow and ultimately collapse.
His newly released album ’On Pause’ is currently out on Trouble in Utopia.

Smoking room is the primary solo-project of multi-instrumentalist Mikey Phillips (Mullholland, Air Balloon, Ezekiel Doo)
