Nominated for best musician at the BBC Folk Awards, banjo maestro Dan Walsh combines \'virtuoso playing and winning songwriting\' (MORNING STAR). This exciting new trio sees him team up with award winning fiddler Ciaran Algar and long time collaborator Nic Zuppardi on mandolin. At the heart of the trio\'s sound is British, Irish and American folk music delivered with a healthy dose of funky grooves. Add to all that poignant songs, astonishing musical departures and lively humour and the result is sure to be a truly memorable live show featuring three of the most in demand musicians on the folk scene today.
I have had the absolute pleasure of booking Dan the Man as a solo, with the Urban Folk Quartet and now the new trio with Ciaran and Nic. Credited quite rightly as one of the best banjo players in the world, Dan play Oxfords Holywell Music rooms for the first time, but is no stranger to the city of Oxford. Last year he played and a did workshop at the Folk Weekend Oxford and I am thrilled to welcome him back. If you have never seen or heard Dan before, it should be on your bucket list. This show will sell out so don\'t dilly dally about buying tickets, and you will not regret it either.
