SERA has made a name for herself at home as a respected singer-songwriter and performer in both her native tongue (Welsh) as well as in English. Constantly gigging and writing as a soloist and singer in a band, she keeps busy, with regular appearances on S4C, a finalist in Song for Wales, sessions on BBC Radio Wales, as well as festivals and acoustic nights.
Branching out into the wider market, Sarah has established links with Canada and the USA. Firstly by recording her debut English language album in Port Dover, Ontario, and now building relationships with venues, promoters and fellow Celts across the pond on the East coast of America, Kentucky and Nashville.
In May 2011 Sarah took her music on an adventure to Massachussettes, New York and Vermont.
North America seems a natural progression for Sarah, with her musical influences hailing from there; the strong women of song who came to fruition in the 90s: Alanis Morisette, Sarah McLachlan, Heather Nova, amidst others. Her own unique style is easily finding audiences there; that Celtic lilt, the unusual sound of the Welsh language, the creative mix of American influenced songwriting, and the voice; A voice which has been described as both soothing and bold. You can hear every word. It is important to Sarah that lyrics are clear, both in her Storytelling songs as well as the more personal, honest compositions.
Sarah was a poet before she became a songwriter, and later went on to make short films and graduated with a Masters degree in screenwriting from Royal Holloway.
Years of hard work have turned her into an artist and is just waiting for her opportunity to really show what she can do.
