New British signings to Monotreme launch their 3rd album, ‘The House On The Causeway’ with a Damnably show at the legendary Windmill in Brixton.
Their two previous albums were released on the splendid Jonson Family Recordings, and received some great press and plenty of radio love from the likes of Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy, and John Peel, who first championed them. They also did a BBC Radio 1 session for Huw Stephens.
The core of Reigns is a multi-talented duo of brothers, Tim and Roo Farthing. Tim you may already know from his time as a touring guitarist with PJ Harvey’s world tour in 2000-2001. He was also in the band Spleen with PJ Harvey drummer Rob Ellis, who sometimes plays drums with the band and may be touring with them next year.
‘The House On The Causeway’ is out worldwide on Monotreme on the 9th of March.

North London stylish art rockers just finished their debut album ‘labours’ and are exactly like the Magic Numbers but good as the band is made up of two sets of rock siblings. They mine a smooth baritone voiced Smog meets Dinosaur JR via the Go betweens and Scott Walker kind of sound and set to break into your hearts this year.

Possibly, the only indigenous cockney still remaining in East London and is a genre hopping song smith as happy skronking out furious post-punk on a modified 6 string bass or quirky black humoured alt. folk on a raggedy acoustic. He has gigged with Chris Brokaw, The Thalia Zedek band, Swell, Mick Turner (Dirty Three) and P.W Long.
