Wow! The KT Bush Band was formed in 1977 by Brian Bath, Vic King, Del Palmer and the 18 year-old Kate Bush. After practicing in Greenwich they made their live debut in April 1977 at the Rose Of Lee in Lewisham. This was the band that started Kate Bush’s live performing career and her path to stardom and they played many gigs around London and also recorded with Kate.
Brian’s guitar features on albums and singles such as “Wow!”, “Babooshka” and ”Never Forever”. He plays lead on “The Wedding List” and also soloed on “Pull out the Pin” to David Gilmour’s haunting vocals. Brian went on to perform with Kate Bush in TV shows, videos, and on the ‘TheTour of Life’ show.
Now he and founder member Vic King on drums have reformed the KT Bush Band to perform the Kate Bush catalogue, recruiting a stunning band, with singer Sallie-Anne Hurst taking the vocal role, bringing Kate’s early shows to life. Her vocal skills, honed on the London stage, pay real tribute to the songs. The highly talented Steve Bevan, on bass and vocals, and Emily Francis on keyboards and vocals, provide the powerful and rich backdrop to the mix.
This is a striking homage to one of the most exciting and original talents of the ‘70s and ‘80s UK music scene, from musicians who were there with her at the very beginning.
Expect all the favourites such as Running Up A Hill, Wuthering Heights, Babooshka, Wow! and The Man With The Child In His Eyes, and many more, all delivered with authenticity, power, passion and superb musicianship.
