Divided, a film by Lee Cragie, The Adventure Syndicate,
Lee Craigie was an outdoor instructor and child counsellor before turning full time mountain bike racer. She became the British Mountain Bike Champion in 2013, member of Team GB at World and European Championships and represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, but the secret to her sporting success lies in her love of exploring big mountains by bike. Fascinated by the places we can take ourselves emotionally by pushing our perceived limits, Lee now rides long distances through wild places self-supported by bike. She is also passionate about fair representation in sport and established The Adventure Syndicate in an effort to offer an alternative female sporting role model. She lives in Inverness, in her van or on her bike.


The film – Divided
The film – Divided – tells the story of an expedition that didn’t quite go to plan, but was all the richer for it. The Tour Divide route follows the Continental Divide down the spine of the USA. It covers a distance more than three times the length of the UK, with just under 20 Everests’ worth of climbing. The rules are simple: eat and sleep when you like, but the clock never stops. Follow the exact route. Remain completely self-supported. And if that’s not enough of a challenge, racers have to dodge bears, lightning storms, snow and snakes. Lee and Rickie self-filmed the whole way. This is the story of their adventure. It’s not a straightforward one. None of the best stories are.
