Friday 6th March 2009 22:00 – 06:00

Friday 6th March sees the first Trouble Vision of 2009 and (with our eyes firmly set on the summer) we’ve put together an all-star, urban carnival lineup to bring in the Spring.

Since Trouble Vision was born in late 2008 the parties have gone from strength to strength, consistently selling out Corsica Studios with innovative and exciting lineups and on the 6th March there will be no exception.

Room 1 sees the brilliantly ‘carnivaliscious’ dancehall stylings of the South Rakkas Crew as they take top billing with a rare Live London appearance. The Mad Decent signings will be showcasing their very own hybrid brand of dancehall, reggae and electro and we can expect the crowd to be bumping to this one.

In support will be none other than the UK’s digi-dancehall wonder kid Toddla T. 2009 looks set to be big year from the Sheffield youngster. Having been nominated as one of Annie Mac’s ‘Players of 2008,’ he also has an album due later this year (with more featured guests than Jools Holland) and a Fabriclive compilation in the pipeline. Toddla T is looking to get very big, very quickly.

With additional support from ‘Radio 1’s In New Djs We Trust’ DJ, Andy Geoge, Dirtybird’s Solo, Nasty McQuaid, Fly Music’s Bryce and residents Solid Gold & Park Ranger and Jam Garden Room 1 is set to burst.

Keeping with the traditions of past Trouble Visions, Room 2 is dedicated to a more jackin-dub-stepping-hip-hopping-house vibe, with Chew The Fat’s Baobinga leading the way. Having initially shot to fame for his breakbeat productions (with production partner ID,) 2008 saw Baobinga somewhat change musical direction and head towards more garage and dancehall inspired productions. With some jaw-dropping releases on the likes of Trouble & Bass we can warmly anticipate what he’s going to do to room 2. Next up is Dress 2 Sweat head-honcho Jackmaster, a man heavily responsible for the ever flourishing, ever impressive Glaswegian electro-dub scene. With releases from the likes of Rustie, Rod Lee, Kazey & Bulldog, Starkey and always plenty more in the pipe line, its fair to say Jackmaster has a good ear for a tune. There is also further support from the mysterious Redlight, notorious garage peddlers Damage & Venom, and residents Oli DAB & Robin, Hylu and The Boog-A-Loo Crew.

Last but not least, Trouble Vision wouldn’t be Trouble Vision without the Silent Disco, and in keeping with the optimistic carnival theme, it will be held outside in the open air (never mind DC10 – this is EC10!!!) . With tunes being supplied by two DJs simultaneously leaving you as the listener to decide which channel suits better, this duty falls on the head of the swing-fumbling Wolf Soundsystem, the funk n’ soul masters, The Hot Doctors and Hesseltime, and last but not least our reggae, roots and soca specialist for the evening, Evo.
