Our second Sound Minds Session will be held on Saturday 2nd February at 7pm at the beautiful 500-year old St John In The Wilderness Church, Exmouth. Sound Mind Sessions is a joint venture between Devon new music promoter, Pik Rawlings, and Exmouth-based singer-songwriter, Pete Falloon, providing  spine-tingling original live acoustic music in beautiful Devon venues, while raising awareness and funds for Mental Health issues in the creative industries. The show will be headlined by stunning alt-folk group Velvet & Stone whose brand of contemporary folk combines wide-open soundscapes with catchy pop hooks and great songs,  and has been described as “haunting” by BBC Radio 2, and “superb” by BBC Introducing.Supporting are two brilliant and unique acts, Georgia Omarah and Ben Morgan-Brown.

Led by the ethereal combination of Lara’s vocals, and Kathryn’s violin;Velvet & Stone’s music draws upon personal stories, melancholy tales and rugged landscapes, taking their audiences on an unforgettable journey through stunning melodies and soundscapes to foot-stomping folk-rock.

Supporting are two brilliant and unique acts, Georgia Omarah and Ben Morgan-Brown. Georgia Omarah is a hugely talented singer-songwriter, lyrics and vocalist who draws inspiration from artists such as Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Adele and Sam Smith, and writes raw, uplifting and inspiring songs of hope from the heart. Tipped as “one of Devon’s musical treasures” by Ted Evans of Riviera FM and she is also strongly supported by BBC Introducing. Named by FATEA magazine as one of the ‘Top Ten Future Stars of 2018’, Ben Morgan-Brown writes intimate songs featuring intricate, virtuouso open-tuned guitar, ethereal vocals and obliquely personal lyrics that tip the hat to Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, and Michael Chapman whilst maintaining a unique musical style and identity. His music been described as “sheer understated brilliance” by BBC Introducing and “warming and satisfying as an open fire” by FATEA magazine
