BEAT UNHAPPENING are delighted to welcome 'TREMBLING BELLS' to Manchester as part of their tour to coincide with the release of their debut lp 'Carbeth' on Honest Jon's Records.
TREMBLING BELLS are Alex Neilson ( of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Scatter, Baby Dee, Jandek, Six Organs of Admittance and more), Lavinia Blackwell (Pendulums, Directing Hand), Ben Reynolds (Motorghost) & Simon Shaw (Lucky Luke). Together they form somewhat of a psych/folk/(ba)roque/outsider supergroup.
Somehow, they simultaneously evoke medieval (early) music and British Psychedelic rock of the 1960's with a distinctly post-punk attitude. They need to be seen to be believed!
"Pentangle meets the Pogues",
" a Fairport Convention for the 21st Century",
"Trembling Bells Are ****ing Amazing"
"Mothers of Invention minus acid plus grog"
"Steeleye Span-ish?, So left-field thet almost come back the other side"
