The Toy Museum Folk Club is Brighton's newest traditional folk night, bringing the very best acts to the unique setting of Brighton Toy and Model Museum. Come and watch intimate acoustic sets from the finest folk talents, and explore the train sets, model planes and traditional children's toys on display in the museum.
Classically trained violinist and songwriter Gaelynn Lea has been bewitching scores of fans with her haunting original songs and experimental takes on traditional fiddle music. In 2016 she won NPR's prestigious Tiny Desk Concert competition, and last year released her gorgeous third album, 'Learning How To Stay'. A remarkable and rare talent, possessed of a mesmeric voice, Gaelynn Lea is an act not to be missed.
Fran Foote & Belinda Kempster are in many ways a new duo on the folk scene - though, as daughter and mother, they've been together for years! Fran is best known, perhaps, as a member of Stick in the Wheel - now, with her mother, the duo are rediscovering songs learnt years earlier from their Great Uncle Ernie. We fully expect a headline at the Toy Museum from these two soon enough, so come see them now as part of this magical line-up.
This is a chance to catch the pair in a unique space, bringing their music to an intimate audience of fans, vintage stuffed toys and model trains! We promise you, as ever, an unforgettable evening that will live long in your memories afterwards!
