The Toy Museum Folk Club is Brighton's newest traditional folk night, bringing the very best acts to the unique setting of Brighton Toy and Model Museum. Come and watch intimate acoustic sets from the finest folk talents, and explore the train sets, model planes and traditional children's toys on display in the museum.

Given the extraordinary space in which our folk club lives and breathes, this might be our most apt event yet. In 1974, the BBC released the now iconic children's television show Bagpuss. Though only 13 episodes were made, they remain amongst the most loved in all of British children's television. Oh, one other thing - the show told the story of an old toy cat, and featured folk music so iconic that it drew many of the future generations of musicians into the genre.

We're thrilled to be hosting the original pair behind the Bagpuss music, Sandra Kerr and John Faulkner, for a very special night in our Toy Museum Folk Club. Both musicians have a long standing legacy on the British and Irish folk scenes, and it'll be an absolute joy to share their music with the audience - we'll be doing all we can to make this the most magical event of the year!

Support comes from Thom Ashworth, a tremendous singer-songwriter whose debut album, Head Canon, is one of the most exciting records of 2019.

This is a chance to catch Sandra and John in a unique space, bringing the songs and music of Bagpuss to an intimate audience of fans, vintage stuffed toys and model trains!
