We're excited to announce that we're bringing RICHARD WALTERS back home to Oxford for the first time in nearly two years for a unique concert in the stunning setting of New College Chapel.
Richard's debut album 'The Animal' was released ten years ago this year, and in September it will be reissued on limited edition vinyl for the first time. This concert will celebrate the re-release and Richard will perform alongside a classical ensemble tracks from the 'The Animal' as well as new songs from his upcoming record. These tracks will be specially arranged by composer Luke Lewis as part of the Holywell Sessions.
Having recently signed to cult UK label Cooking Vinyl, Richard's recent releases have garnered support from a number of influential blogs, including Crack in the Road, The Line of Best Fit, Atwood Magazine and All Things Go, as well as radio support from UK stations including BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and Amazing Radio.
As a solo artist Walters has released four critically acclaimed albums and four EP's since 2007. His music has featured on a number of hit TV shows including Grey's Anatomy, Tin Star, Queen Sugar, Criminal Minds and most recently ABC series Station 19. As a songwriter and collaborator Richard has had huge success working with a number of artists including Declan J. Donovan ('Human Way'), FOURS ('Tell Me in the Morning'), Alison Moyet ('The English U') and 3Lau ('Touch').
Luke Lewis is a composer and arranger. His music has been performed internationally by ensembles such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and Orkest de Ereprijs. As an arranger he has worked on projects with artists such as Clean Bandit, Jane Weaver, East India Youth, with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. Most recently he collaborated with Gaz Coombes at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford.
