"A songwriter’s songwriter with a stupefying track record, a prolific writer of outstanding melodies" ANDRE PREVIN
From life-affirming soundtracks of Busby Berkley’s surreal flights of cinematic fancy in the 1930s and numerous classic movie musicals in the 1940s and 1950s to rock-era revivals in the 1960s and 1970s and finally in the 1980s a theatrical smash with 42nd Street, Harry Warren’s music is as famous and delightful as that of his more famous contemporaries (Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, Kern et al) though his natural aversion to the limelight ensured his name remained under the radar.
Pianist-singer Chris Ingham salutes this most genial of backroom geniuses.
“Scintillating company…over and above his impish arpeggios, droll introductions and left-handed singing the thing that fascinates me about Mr. Ingham is his erudition” JAZZ JOURNAL
