This enduring and entertaining story of Edwardian painters is set in the building trades of Edwardian England where painters and decorators struggle to maintain themselves and their families, poverty and the constant fear of unemployment notwithstanding, while renovating a large townhouse for the local mayor.
With projected animation, conjuring tricks, live music and song, and of course the Great Money Trick, there's something for all the family here, not least the chance to become acquainted with this timeless story of socialism and political awakening.
Townsend Theatre Productions presents Neil Gore in a one-man magic lantern show: Ken Loach: “A strong and robust show that brings the characters, humour and inspirational ideas of this great book to life. It is needed now more than ever.”
Seating strictly limited for your COVID safety, so tickets are now scarce. Do keep checking - any returns will be put back on this booking site without delay. And don't forget the next live theatre show show, just two weeks later on 24 August - "Forget Me Not - The Alzheimer's Whodunnit".
