Big Sexy Noise
It was only a matter of time...Lydia Lunch has collaborated with Terry Edwards, James Johnston and Ian White in a variety of musical guises for the last ten years.
From Hangover Hotel and Smoke in the Shadows to the most recent multimedia performances of Real Pornography and The Ghosts of Spain, the three rabble rousers from Gallon Drunk have, in a series of ever morphing configurations, collaborated with Lydia in creating psycho-ambient soundscapes in the service of propelling forth spoken word exorcisms in her decades-long prophecies of societal collapse, moral bankruptcy, and global corruption.
Big Sexy Noise is the primaeval bump, grind and holler of White’s thuggish drums, Johnston’s moronic low-tuned riffing and Edwards’ brutal organ and sax interventions led by Lunch’s take-no-prisoners vocals. Big Sexy Noise have just released a 6 track mini-album and the four band-written originals are complemented by Kill Your Sons, a Lou Reed tune that seems tailor-made for Lydia, and The Gospel Singer, a song that has been on the back-burner for a while since Lunch co-wrote it with Kim Gordon during downtime from Sonic Youth. If you can imagine a diseased fusion of The Birthday Party’s Junkyard outtakes blended with Ron Asheton’s narcotic caveman guitar slop then you’ll be heading in the right direction. According to the No Wave Nostradamus herself "It's time to stop complaining, quit your crying and embrace the coming End Times. Let's fucking rock."I
Big Sexy Nosie the album is available as a limited edition heavyweight vinyl or download only on Sartorial Records.
The Cesarians
The spirit of rock & roll has hauled himself out of bed. He's called up his demons, put on his best black suit, and returned to the city's dark places. His new playmates are The Cesarians.
Not since The Birthday Party crashed and burned in Berlin, have the twisted sounds of old style decadence been pumped so intensely through distorted amplifiers. London scenesters looking for a scene free of recycled rock, have found expression in The Cesarians cabaret world.
Had rock and roll been born in 1930's urban Europe, and not 1930's rural America, it would have been like this; part Kurt Weill, part Jacques Brel, part Ernst Kirchner, part klezma. Looking like a band formed in the mind of Geoge Grosz, The Cesarians capture the urban zeitgeist via the junk shop instruments of old Europe . In their hands, a clarinet, trombone, piano, and drums beaten in waltz time, make raw and raucous rock and roll. Featuring ex members of Penthouse, Monkey Island, Getchen Hofner and Baadar Meinhoff, London based quintet the Cesarians are quite possibly just what the doctor ordered.

Loverman
Since their last appearance at Baba Yaga's Hut popular youth group Loverman have recorded a five song Extended Play record with well known producers Atticuss Ross (NIN) and Joe Baresi (QOTSA) in Pasadena, CA. Wherever Loverman go they are followed by hoards of screaming, swinging juveniles, they and their management have to constantly think of new and ingenious of ways to evade their adoring fans, they are also accredited with saving the sagging British linoleum industry. Dirty music for dirty minds.
