Leeds-based duo of maximum noise and minimal lyrics That F*cking Tank call into The Social for a set that's sure to test the PA to the limit.
The band - Andrew Derek Ross Abbott (Baritone guitar) and James Richard Islip (drums) have a phenomenal, ferocious reputation, and will play tracks from their recently released second album 'Tanknology' - get it via Gringo now.
They say: "That F*cking Tank is a band that operates on DIY principles; booking gigs, recording records and making music in a way that contributes towards the creation of alternative spaces to the boring mechanisms of 'industry', and challenging the assumption that 'good' music has to be made 'professionally' (i.e as a job)."
MySpace lists their influences as: "Swimming in rivers in Zurich, the M1, Death-Buzzards circling Spanish petrol stations, Basements and Bedrooms."
Clash says: "Come."

Support comes from...
FAIR OHS... think clatter-punk world music, Paul Simon goes Wives, or, in their words: "no fib, we've gone all worldbeat afro-core baby". Pretty much WIN written all over that.

BRONTIDE... head-bobbing, complex but accessible instrumental rock in the vein of Russian Circles going head to head with Battles. Drummer Will's been moonlighting in La Roux's band of late, but behind a proper kit he's a sight to behold, delivering taut rolls underpinning the band's ambitious fret work.

DOWN I GO... simply the most enjoyably frenetic, fiery foursome you'll see this side of a Mike Patton-fronted supergroup screaming songs about famous disasters, dinosaurs, maniacal tyrants and killer robots. Jazz-tinged hardcore with plenty of humour, but as tight as a wasp's butthole. Pretty freakin' special.
