JULIE DOIRON started playing guitar (then bass) in seminal art grunge act ERIC'S TRIP at age 18. Shortly before the band's break up in 1996 she released a solo album under the name 'Broken Girl', then has released all her subsequent material under her own name.
She has appeared as a guest musician for HERMAN DUNE (Not on Top), released a split record with OKKERVIL RIVER, and collaborated on the 2008 MOUNT EERIE album Lost Wisdom.
Her album 'Woke Myself Up' was shortlisted for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, and Doiron is now touring her 9th solo album 'I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day' (Jagjaguwar).
"Doiron has produced an album of boundless optimism for the post-Bush age" - Uncut
"she enunciates with a child's relish, tonguing vowels as though they're glazed in jam. Her voice apple blossm rich, the melody capacious" - Plan B.
