DARREN HAYMAN AND THE SECONDARY MODERN
Former Hefner front man Darren Hayman returns with a new line-up of his band The Secondary Modern to play a special intimate warm-up show. Expanded to a six-piece Hayman will be playing a mixture of old and new material, including songs from his critically acclaimed last album "Pram Town" on the Track & Field label, in preparation for a mini UK tour and an appearance at End Of The Road festival in September. With no other London shows currently announced this is a one-off opportunity for Hefner fans and Hayman acolytes to catch their man close-up as he embarks the next stage of his elaborate artistic journey, evoking a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere with songs about life and love in the suburbs that showcase his eye for detail and ear for folk-pop melodies.
"London's laureate of sexual dysfunction, discomfort, and dog-eared under-achievement… the match of Ray Davies, or any of the quintessentially English masters." (The Guardian)

ALLO, DARLIN’
Uke-wielding indie-folkster Elizabeth Darling and her friends play their breezy, witty pop tunes, indisputable girl-pop masterpieces each and every one, and bittersweet funny, like The Magnetic Fields playing forgotten outtakes from Joni Mitchell’s Blue. Her last single, the fabulous “Henry Rollins Don’t Dance” with Terry Edwards on trumpet and sax, was described by The Guardian as "the best indiepop song for years", by Metro as "Ace" and led to an appearance on BBC 6music as Steve Lamacq's New Favourite Band.
“If I don’t get to hear a whole album soon, I might just explode.” (RetroLofi)

tELLEY
Based on the songs of Jim Parsons, guitarist extraordinaire in indie legends Spearmint, tELLEY also features the idiosyncratic drum style of longtime collaborator James Agnew (ex-Scaramanga Six) and new members Sharon Leach and Thom Allott, also of The Gresham Flyers. The new album, "Now I’m The Big Sister" was released on 17th August to a host of great reviews and will put you in mind of classic XTC, Sparks and The Flaming Lips.
"Cute and fun, revelling in short, simple, but down-right catchy melodies from start to finish." (There Goes The Fear)

MOUSTACHE OF INSANITY
A duo comprising a Swede and an Australian, Moustache Of Insanity play what indie-mp3 call ”a daft combination of twee bedroom pop and the Moldy Peaches”. They're energetic, infectious, insane, and a whole bundle of fun. Their impromptu afterhours version of "Freckles & Cheese" was one of the highlights of this year's Indietracks festival.
"These guys are brilliant. Twee-casio-pop ahoy, they are a bit like Moldy Peaches with tiny keyboards and facial hair. One of the most fun bands we've heard in a while." ( Pull Yourself Together)
