STILL CORNERS:
“Their sound has a retro-feel to it, – some 60s and 70s psychedelia mixed with 80s dreamy indie-pop and everything is blended together into a unique and beautiful sound. When I hear Still Corners’ music, I’m reminded of 4AD-bands from the 80s and 90s, like Lush, Pale Saints, A.R.Kane or Cocteau Twins. Maybe I hear a bit of early Stereolab in there too?
Still Corners has the same dreamy, soothing feeling, and their sound has elements that you can find in the music of all the mentioned artists. Reverbed drums, drone guitars, swirling organs, a distinct bass-sound and dreamy vocals slightly in the background of the mix.
Their sound is huge, almost like a wall of sound, with lots of reverb. Stunningly beautiful music, all the way. It is easy to let your mind drift when you listen to their songs.”

THE SILVER ABDUCTION:
The Silver Abduction, a new project from vocalist Allison Brice (The Eighteenth Day of May) and producer Andy Dragazis (Blue States) featuring drummer Philip Jenkins (Broadcast), and bassist Andy Jones (The Welfare State). Together they are simply one of the most sweet things you could see live. Ennio Morricone, Angelo Badalamenti, Julee Cruise, Burt Bacharach, the references couldn't be better. Brice and Dragazis write timeless pop classic melodies bedded in rich harmonies, with Allison hitting the hard notes with gracious generosity. While 'Castle Rock', the opening song, has enough magic to pet a wild cat, 'Remember my heart' could be a missing tune from Love's 'Forever Changes' sessions. 'Perfidia' - a tactful revision of an old Mexican song -
***
The Silver Abduction play six songs, all of them very different sounding, from shoegazing to sixties ballads, and all containable within the adjective "Lynchian". No longer the dulcimer playing front woman of the Eighteenth Day of May, Alison Brice has traded folk songs for torch songs and stands, elegantly dressed and looking like Veronica Lake, with her hands twirling expressively in her lap in the manner of some Indian temple dancer. It’s both sultry and spooky, and ends moodily, with a cover of Xavier Cugat’s ‘Perfidia’ that transforms the Wilmington Arms into a nightmare nightclub.

THERE'S MORE OF US THAN THERE ARE OF YOU:
"There's More of Us Than There Are of You are a battle between the incredibly clever and the very stupid.
Formed out of a psychotropically enhanced conversation between Tom Goldsmith (Circulus) and Adam Richens (ex. High as Flames). A question: Why would anyone want to watch a band when they could be in one? The proposal: An experiment aimed to blur the distinction between musician and non-musician, between performer and audience. In practical terms the experiment consisted of a large room containing everyone they could find willing to wield an instrument playing a D for four hours. The results were terrifying.
But puke over the walls and some will inevitably stick. And the most enthusiastic participants kept jamming. The sound made by the remaining eight members is less of an experiment, perhaps, but now worth listening to. Pretension steps aside and makes way for a tune.
The line-up currently consists of two guitars, bass, drums, synthesizers, violin, viola and glockenspiel as well as occasional vocals. The band use equal measures of improvisation and careful calculation to achieve an organic, lo-fi prog/kraut/afro/jazz-rock hybrid and have most notably been compared to Do Make Say Think, who Tom has never heard. They hope audiences will dance, and consider themselves in "jazz" terms to be the best non-jazz band in London right now.
Currently recording at Hugo Danino's speaker palace on a large format analogue tape machine blessed by none other than God himself."
