Double bill from pioneer of alt.country and one of Britain’s best new bluegrass bands
AMA (Americana Music Association) award winner SID GRIFFIN led indie rock heroes the Long Ryders, credited by many as founders of alt-country. Their 1984 their album ‘Native Sons’ reached number 1 on the UK Indie Charts and number 4 in the US. After relocating to the UK, Griffin toured extensively with the Coal Porters, as well writing, broadcasting and record producing.

Opening the show, and then joining Griffin at the end of the night for some rabble-rousing bluegrass numbers, Brighton’s THE SEAGRASS BAND. Fronted by Dave Taggart (Belinda Carlisle band, Jimmy Nail band, Baz Warne [Stranglers] duo), featuring members of the Coal Porters and the Guy Chadwick [House of Love] Band and Paul Bishop, described by Record Collector Magazine as the Jimi Hendrix of the banjo.
