A minor legend on A Major Label - which is what Fred chose to call his own label when he set it up after years of being mucked around by the big guns. As a songwriter, at his best, he is the equal of John Prine or Steve Earle; as a performer, he is a total one-off. Never once have I seen him fail to have the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. If you wondered why some people are moved to travel the world to see him play, now's your chance to join in the fun - go on, be a Fred-head too!
